Operating conditions and original problem

A large iron-ore concentrator experienced slurry erosion and particle wear. Original trim lasted 4–6 months.

Technical approach

SLM creates integrated conformal flow channels, combined with a Stellite protective layer. The work concerns non-pressure-retaining trim.

For non-pressure-retaining wear parts: valve trim, seats and sealing surfaces. Pressure-retaining components require project-specific qualification before acceptance.
